Description:
Lean companies like Toyota are famous for their disciplined application of kaizen and the ability to improve basic processes. Most people are familiar with workshop events in some form or other but those types of events were actually extremely rare inside Toyota. Since the early 1950’s Toyota has relied upon some form of a Kaizen course internally to teach employees the basic concepts for improvement. Participants then applied the skills and techniques from the course either by themselves or in small group activities.
In this workshop you will learn about some of the basic techniques, methods, and analysis taught in the Kaizen course. The basic pattern follows a six step method:
Identify the problem / opportunity
Analyze the current method
Generate original ideas
Plan the new method
Implement the new method
Follow up and verify results

At the end of this workshop you will understand the basic methods for kaizen. Particular time and attention will be spend on the different techniques used in step two for analyzing current methods of work.
